Description
Boquete is a valley on the eastern side of Volcan Baru - the highest point in Panama. The coffee is grown on the slopes that surround the valley going upwards towards the volcano. Boquete is known for its incredible biodiversity, especially in flowering plants. The town of Boquete was settled in the late 1800's and early 1900s by immigrants from around the world who came to build the canal. This diverse group brought to Boquete innovations to improve the process of production in the coffee culture.
Panama Boquete coffee is strictly hard bean and strictly high grown. Higher growing altitudes are linked to brighter acidity, a cleaner cup and more consistent bean density.
